Not only is it extremely cheap for a mobile provider to run a txt message service, the data uses a portion of the transmission that gets sent anyway.<br />
A scientist at the University of Leicester recently <a title="Texting costs are 'out of this world'" href="http://esciencenews.com/articles/2008/05/12/texting.costs.are.out.world" target="_self">published</a> some calculations that show txt messaging is a number of times more expensive than sending data to the Hubble space telescope.<br />
Anyone smell a <a title="Text Messaging Prices Raise Questions" href="http://www.efluxmedia.com/news_Text_Messaging_Prices_Raise_Questions_24063.html" target="_self">price-fixing</a> investigation?</p>
